The Mike Barone Big Band is a great Los Angeles institution. Mike is a world class composer and arranger who wrote for the Gerald Wilson Orchestra and provided much of the music performed on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Mike continues to bring in fresh brilliant material to the band.
I performed on lead tenor with the Mike Barone Big Band for a five years while living in Los Angeles, and I had the privilege of performing on two of his albums. The 2012 release Birdland and the 2015 release La Fiesta.
