wild Up is an experimental classical ensemble. A flexible band of Los Angeles musicians committed to creating visceral, thought-provoking happenings. The group, led by artistic director and conductor Christopher Rountree, unites around the belief that no music is off limits, and that a concert space should be as moving as the music heard in it: small, powerful and unlike anything else. Our projects are meant to bring people together, defy convention and address the need for heart-wrenching, mind-bending experiences.
The Industry creates experimental productions that expand the traditional definition of opera. By merging media and through interdisciplinary collaborations, we produce works that inspire new audiences for the art form. We believe that new opera opens space for imagination, engagement, dialogue, and connection. The Industry serves as an incubator for new talent and for artists predominantly based in Los Angeles.

Formed by vaunted L.A. composer and multi-instrumental improviser Vinny Golia to perform his ambitiously scaled original compositions, the Large Ensemble has been a powerhouse of the west coast creative music scene for three decades. Now numbering more than 40 virtuoso performers, the orchestra blends Golia’s intricately notated contemporary chamber music with crackerjack improvisation, incorporating extended instrumental techniques, 20th-century idioms and world music concepts. Only a fraction of the orchestra’s huge repertoire is performed live more than once—making each concert a can’t-miss occasion. The Large Ensemble’s latest incarnation is built around the Vinny Golia Electric Sextet: Golia on a dizzying array of winds, plus trumpeter Daniel Rosenboom, saxophonist Gavin Templeton, guitarist Alex Noice, bassist Jon Armstrong and drummer Andrew Lessman. For the first time, the orchestra also features a vocalist, Andrea Young.
Performance In Two Acts by
DORIAN WOOD and THE DANIEL ROSENBOOM SEPTET
"As then, but now, the king blinds barefoot. A set of fine mirrors shade his eyes from the transformation all around, and she, his Orange Peeled Harlotan, can only follow the trail of his voice. His mirrors raise. A point is in the making. Her gifted watch is clasped then unclasped, but for what pleasing? Citrus angel hits the sky with none apparent. He rejoices in her humored touch, gently inspecting the under of her arm, back to his side, as if to hint at her hand to settle his leg, down down. Certainly can ruin, and certain to the will of such."
